Visio Corp. recently announced that its newest release of Visio Technical, 4.5, contains specific capabilities for the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) market. "Visio Technical’s unique approach to drawing with industry-specific HVAC SmartShapes symbols, its integration with AutoCAD, and its overall extensibility as a technical solution make the new product well-suited for the HVAC market," said Mark Sherman, Visio Technical product manager.
The new SmartShapes symbols for HVAC industrial controls let users assemble and add data for their HVAC designs. These new symbols include mechanical equipment, such as duct work, filter and fans. Other symbols include HVAC controls, such as valves, sensors, and actuators.
Visio Technical 4.5 runs under Microsoft Windows 3.1, 95, NT, and Microsoft’s Office 97. The new version has a US estimated street price of $299. Upgrade pricing is also available.
